A Variety of Vaudeville, Sideshow & Klezmer Acts to Play the Midwest This Week

Jun

Though Steampunk Music has yet to be defined (and thank the heavens for that!)  There is definitely a style and aesthetic that draws the general steampunk to any variety of events.  Circus sideshows, vaudeville acts, burlesque and magicians are all within the mix – and so are the bands that so often accompany them.

And so it is that this week, and with great pleasure, myself and the lovely lady KL Kenzie of the Steampunk Chicago DJs get to share the stage with many FANTASTIC bands and performers!

First we have a show put together by KFAR Jewish Center for Wednesday June 22nd.  It’s to feature the Mazel Tov Kocktail Hour, That Damned Band and The 999 Eyes Sideshow.  This is a show NOT to be missed, with a sights and sounds that will leave you wanting more!  If you happen to be wondering what SOUNDS (at the least – for sights you’ll have to come and see) we’ve been so kind as to attach a few selections below!

The show is 18+ and will take place at Mayne Stage in Roger’s Park.  Tickets are $10 in advance so get them NOW!  Shows from 8pm – 11pm.

THAT Damned Band – Trainwrekk’t

THAT Damned Band – Gone Where the Gobbelins Go

But if you can’t make it to Chicago for Wednesday fear not, we have a FREE show in Milwaukee on Thursday brought to you by the Shmaltz Brewing Company with The White City Rippers and The Dead Man’s Carnival!  Another show of strange vaudeville sounds and fantastic sights!  It’s for the 21 and up only, we apologize young’uns, and is at the The Hotel Foster.  There will also be specials of Shmaltz Brewery’s Coney Island beer line all night long!

So good midwestern freaks, folks and steampunkers – don’t miss out on some GRAND old fun!
