It’s the Summer of Steampunk here in Illinois and it continues to gather pressure! Lockport Illinois is a small town just outside of Chicago, and is host to a yearly Summer Art Series. This year the theme is Steampunk, and they have assembled a broad collection of sculpture, murals, writing, and art from several local artists. This weekend is the official celebration and Visionaries Gala featuring music, shopping, movies, tea, art, food, dancing and more! Steampunk Chicago brings you the exclusive!
Come see art from Jason Brammer, John Siblik, Paul Ciesiun, Larry Brogan, CJ Henderson, Douglas Klauba, Joe Gentile, and others. The art series is displayed on and around the I&M canal in downtown Lockport, rolling on through the weekend with plenty to do for the whole family or the distinguished Steampunk connoisseur. You can experience all Lockport has to offer which includes five museums, an interactive park on the Lincoln Landing, a beautiful bike and walking path along the canal, and amazing restaurants while you attend in your Steampunk finery.

FRIDAY evening Fancies
Bring your gold purse and browse vendors on Friday and Saturday. Pop up shopping will be setup in store fronts in and around downtown Lockport. Shopping is open on Friday from 6pm – Midnight and Saturday from 10am – 7pm.
Stop by the historic Roxy Theater on Friday evening at 6:30 to watch Sky Captain World Of Tommorrow for just $5.
SATURDAY night Gala
The Visionaries Steampunk Gala is one night only at the Gaylord Building and celebrates the amazing artwork and the Steampunk aesthetic which makes up the Summer Art Series. The Gala is a 21 and over event. It begins promptly at 6:00P.M. and end at Midnight. Steampunk costumes are highly encouraged for this Black Tie Event. There will even be a contest for the best dressed!
The Gala features fine dining and music, as well as performances throughout the event.

SUNDAY Tea and Duels
Wind down the weekend with a cuppa! Sunday at 2pm is the high tea, and all are welcome. High Tea is $35, and kids under 12 are $12.95.
At 4:30 PM, it’s time to grab your (steampunked?) airsoft guns and head to the field for a right proper shooting session! Legacy Paintball Park is host to the steampunk airsoft battle. Airsoft battle is $30 per person, and a camping option is available.
