Chicago is becoming a very good destination and playground for Midwestern Steampunks. If you’ve been paying attention, you’ll know that this weekend there is a Vintage Clothing and Jewelry Show, and we’re having our monthly get-together at a French Restaurant in the West Loop. In March, Dr. Steel is having his Toy Soldier Day, and we’re producing a fantastic and phantasmagorical show, the likes of which you’ve never seen!

Fancy Dress!
So you want to dress old-timey, neo-victorian or steampunk eh? There’s no better place to start than with actual, honest vintage clothing and gear and work from there. The Chicagoland Vintage Clothing & Jewelry Show is this Friday and Saturday, the 26th and 27th at Hemmens Cultural Center in Elgin, Illinois.
Friday 5pm-10pm – admission $10 ($2 off Friday admission if you dress in vintage! Early buying is available at 3 pm for $60)
Saturday 10am-5pm – admission $6
And if you’re a parental steampunk, bring your vintage offspring as well, and dress them up! They’ll either love you for it, or grow to resent you, then love you.

Toy Soldier Day was established to commemorate the vision of a Utopian Playland and recognize the fine Soldiers who are making this vision a reality.
Reserved as a fun filled day with creativity and joy as its prime directive, March 4th sees the celebration of both the individual and the Army as a whole, utilizing this day to its fullest potential.
