Several steampunk stalwarts are running crowdfunding campaigns. Eli August and the Abandoned buildings are working on an EP. Frenchy and the Punk are recording a new CD. Unwoman is working on an original album. Victor Sierra is trying to come to the US.
Eli August and the Abandoned Buildings are spread across the eastern seaboard (MD, NJ, NY, PA and VA). $6000 will bring them together to record, mix and master an EP, as well as to shoot a video. Frenchy & the Punk return to Kickstarter, having used it to fund Hey Hey Cabaret and Elephant Uproar. Contributors to the new CD can pledge for CDs, original artwork, guitar pillows or yoga pants. Victor Sierra seeks funding so that they will be able to travel from Paris to the Steampunk World’s Fair in Piscataway, NJ, in May 2014. They are offering CDs, merch, an evening’s accommodations outside of Paris or the opportunity to be in a film with a band.
