Have nothing to do this weekend? Well, fear not intrepid steampunk, because this weekend is full of lots of things to keep you busy. First of all, Bristol Renaissance Faire is hosting a Steampunk invasion. The events include a Steampunk Promenade which will only be held on Saturday which is a costume contest a the Globe stage, as well as an Absinthe Bar (for those 21 and over, naturally). So dress in your not quite finest finery, one that you don’t mind getting slightly dirty or rained on, and be sure to break out the sunscreen, because who wants bodice burn, ladies? And don’t forget the tops of your ears, gentlemen! There will also be an informal group photo both days at 3:00 down by the pirate ship next to Three Sheets Pub.
Here’s a tip for saving a bit of money at the Renaissance Faire for those delicious turkey legs, printing the coupon or buying tickets on the website (and remember to print them at home because they won’t be held at will call) or buy them up at a participating Walgreens is cheaper than buying them at the gate. The list of Walgreens is on Bristol’s tickets page. Whew!
Alright, so if the idea of spending two days out on the town is too much for you to handle, then spend Saturday relaxing and enjoy Sunday with us at the Pleasant Home in Oak Park for our Watch Chains and Lace Summer Series. Tickets are $15 and can be bought on the Tickets link right here on our website or at the door. Enjoy great food, friendly company, historical tours, lawn games, (weather permitting), and parlor games to keep you entertained indoors as well.
Our vendors this month are:
