After two years of labor, Chicago-based electro-swing producer Vourteque is poised to release The Iron and Jazz Age. His Kickstarter campaign aims to cover mastering and production costs for a March 2015 release.
Vourteque and Dead 2 Me Records follow up on 2012’s Swing Mechanical EP. The new 11 track album will feature contributions from guest stars Professor Elemental, Sabrina Chap, Sean Guinan of Candy Town, Carey Rayburn of Good Company, Joe Harbison & Alex Johns of Ford Theatre Reunion, Eli August, Allison Curval of The Clockwork Dolls, Kyle Greer, and Mr. Automatic.
Kickstarter backer rewards range from digital and physical copies of The Iron and Jazz Age to Vourteque’s complete discography on a USB in a test tube to a home cooked dinner to a personal DJ set. The campaign is shooting for a $2,500 goal. If a $7,500 stretch goal is reached, it will also fund a companion book, Dispatches from the Iron and Jazz Age.
Contributions can be made at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/vourteque/vourteques-electro-swing-album-the-iron-and-jazz-a. The project ends on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 1 am CST.
Vourteque also DJs and hosts the monthly Rouge electro swing and cabaret night at Door No. 3 at 1551 N Damen, Chicago, IL.
