Steampunk Chicago is pleased to present in partnership with Chicago’s Field Museum Magic of the Midway, celebrating their 1893 World’s Fair exhibit!
Calling all steampunks in, around, and beyond Chicago! Come to the The Field Museum for a one day special event and step back in time to celebrate and browse the vaults of the 1893 World’s Fair!
This is an OFFICIAL EVENT that we steampunks have been requested to take part in!
Visit the main stage and see the show, and be entertained as the performers wander about! Wear your finery, gear up and prepare for a fun filled day perfect for the whole family at Chicago’s fantastic and friendly Field Museum.
Admission to the Steampunk events, music, and performances is free with Museum admission. Tickets are $25/adults and $18 children to the museum and World’s Fair exhibit.
Please RSVP on our Facebook event page! We will be meeting in the main atrium of the Field Museum between 11am and noon, to watch some acts and explore the museum as a group! A special 25% discount coupon has been posted to our Facebook event page!

On June 21, 1893 the Ferris Wheel began giving rides to fairgoers, leading one reviewer to say “I have no desire to advertise the wheel when I tell you a trip upon it is worth taking. You cannot advertise the wheel, anyway, anymore than too big.”
