Steampunk as a visual style has been spotted everywhere from fashion to interior design and of course, music videos! Right here in Chicago, the steampunk visual style can be seen by local artists and musicians.
First up, is our local production – the new music video from Kyle Greer.
The idea for this music video started at our first Airship Harbor event. Among the other guests, Oleg Roderick presented his amazing models of castles. The castles looked so alive and real, that I, the Steampunk Chicago videographer, wanted to create a video about it. A few months later I put together a team to organize the shooting and of course, find a talent whose music will be the basis for a music video.
Many thank yous to my cast and crew:
Kyle Greer for music, Bridget Sharon, Sam Perkins-Harbin, and Ryan De Ryke for acting, Oleg Roderick for castles, Alisa Vaynrub for masks, and myself (Daria Melnikova) for the video!
New local projects will be coming in the future.
Our Next video comes to us from France. From fun, mad and crazy electroswing band Lamuzgueule!
It’s very professional work and the plot is a wonderful idea, where our modern culture is transformed into something old style, by means of swing and steampunk. We hope to see the band Lamuzgueule in Chicago this year!
This next video includes an artist and his group who recently visited Chicago during their tour through the Midwest, Eli August and the Abandoned Buildings.
This video is just — WOW! It has over 6 million views and it’s worth it! It’s a crazy battle of steampunk musicians in a weird western style! If you have not seen it, you should watch now!
Thanks for checking out the latest music videos and stay tuned to SteampunkChicago.com for the latest steampunk music and videos!
