Although Chicago’s theatre collective Terra Mysterium debuts its new play The Lion & The Serpent, part of the experience premiered on July 15 when Ranty Wilberforce began blogging.
At rantywilberforce.com, Wilberforce began posting music, poetry and videos. He found a book by Victorian mage Professor Marius Mandragore at Alchemy Arts Bookstore, only to discover that somehow the author was still living in modern-day Logan Square.
His story continues onstage in The Lion and The Serpent, where he must answer the question, “If Destiny knocked, would you answer?”
The play runs at the Athenaeum Theatre’s Studio 1 at 2936 N Southport Ave, Chicago, IL. Performances are Thursday September 5 at 8pm, Friday September 6 at 8 pm, Saturday September 7 at 8pm and Sunday September 8 at 2pm. Tickets are $22. They are available at https://web.ovationtix.com/trs/pr/926385. The ticket price includes a $2 Athenaeum Restoration fee.
The performance lasts two hours, with a fifteen-minute intermission.
Additional congratulations go to Terra Mysterium for their 2013 season fundraising campaign on indiegogo. They raised $1500 over their $6500 goal!
