Bestselling steampunk author Gail Carriger will be providing two opportunities to visit her in Chicago area libraries. They are launches for Waistcoats & Weaponry, the third book in her Finishing School series.
Finishing School is set in the same universe as Carriger’s Parasol Protectorate series. Mademoiselle Geraldine’s Finishing Academy for Young Ladies of Quality specializes in the art of finishing others. The series offers flying trifle, cheese pie, and mechanical sausage dogs.
There will be a Waistcoats & Weaponry Book Party on November 12, 2014, from 7 to 8 pm, at the Schaumburg Township District Library at 130 S. Roselle Road, Schaumburg, IL. The first ten teens to register will receive a free book; additional prizes will be awarded to teens in Victorian garb. The release party is open to teens and adults, but all must register at 847-923-3240 or online here.
Carriger will also appear on November 13, 6 -8 pm, at the Chicago Public Library Lincoln Belmont Branch at 1659 W Melrose, Chicago, IL. The event will be hosted by The Book Cellar.
